International Summer School Historic Masonry

We were very happy to participate in the second edition of the International Summer School Historic Masonry. The Summer School took place in Anagni from the 17th to 30th of June.

Twenty-four students from different countries participated in this edition. During the first week, we had very interesting lectures by Maurizio Angelillo, Santiago Huerta, Gianmarco de Felice, John Ochsendorf, Philippe Block, Alessandro Dell’Endice and Antonino Inauzzo. The second week we had the pleasure to listen to the guest lectures by Antonello De Luca, Robert Flatt, Roberta Fonti and Ricardo Barsotti.

We were in charge of the fieldwork with Alessandro Dell’Endice, Roberta Fonti, Ignacio Javier Gil Crespo and Antonino Ianuzzo. For the fieldwork, the students analysed four case studies in Anagni: the church of San Pietro in Vineis, Sant Angelo Scuola Media, the church of San Agostino and the church of San Lorenzo. During the first week, we had a hands-on seminar with a laser scanner. The students carried out the structural analysis of the case studies during the second week.

We also had visits to Rome, L’Aquila and Anagni Soterranea.

Four great presentations from the students closed this second edition of the Summer School. We are looking forward to the 3rd one!
